Stanisław Linowski

Student at the Stanisław Wyspiański Academy of Theatre Arts in Krakow

03.09.2019 – National Stary Theatre, Krakow

This talented student of Krakow’s Academy of Theatre Arts took his first steps on the professional stage in “The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui,” directed by Remigiusz Brzyk at the J. Słowacki Theatre, proving he had the courage to take on the greatest artistic challenges. Among others, it was his role as Caruther in this play that earned the applause: “(…) everyone is splendid. I finally saw an ensemble there. A brilliantly coordinated and composed group that knew what to act and what to do, a group of great actors and confident people thinking about the task of performing a good play” (Tomasz Domagała).

In his diploma play, “Burnt by the Sun” directed by Agnieszka Glińska at the Academy of Theatre Arts in Krakow, he had the opportunity to try his hand at a complex psychological performance in which: “All the characters create a closed social unit (…). The men and women betray or are betrayed. They seek intimacy and the ideal partner. In watching them we get the feeling that fate gives them desperate moments of truth and deceit” (Łukasz Drewniak, teatralny.pl).

The actor’s enormous capabilities were recognized with the Grand Prix / journalists’ award and the audience award at the 39th Actors’ Songs Review in Wrocław in 2018, and at the prestigious SINGING MASK 14th Andrey Petrov International Students Vocal Contest-Festival. “This young man is musical and changes like a chameleon, he is gifted with charisma, adored by both fickle connoisseurs and those new to the charms of the stage” (ppa.wroclaw.pl) – this was the verdict on Stanisław Linowski’s performance in Radek Stępień’s play “I Love You,” created for the 40th edition of the Actors’ Songs Review in Wrocław.

In 2016 the actor played alongside Dorota Segda in “The Woman in the Mirror,” directed by Waldemar Raźniak, which was part of the Documentary and Film Studios’ (WFDIF) Teatroteka series that screened works by young Polish dramaturgs. He has also appeared on the screen in Bartłomiej Ignaciuk’s popular “Teacher” television series, and in “Under the Surface,” directed by Borys Lankosz.
