“This seemingly withdrawn girl is an actor with such reserves of energy and talent that once she gets fired up, the viewers drop their I-phones in astonishment (…) she’s a real theatrical firecracker,” Mike Urbaniak wrote of Anna Paruszyńska in Gazeta Wyborcza.

She made her debut at the National Stary Theatre while still a student of the Academy, in The Old Woman Broods directed by Marcin Liber, which was also her professional stage debut. Soon thereafter, she joined the ensemble of Wanda directed by Paweł Passini, where she stood in for Katarzyna Zawadzka as Wanda the Child. Outside of the national stage, she could be seen at Warsaw’s STUDIO theatre gallery, in Krzysztof Garbaczewski’s much-lauded rendering of Liberation, where she delivered Konrad’s monologue: “I listened in taut fascination, grateful that Garbaczewski had made this most difficult fragment of Liberation the central point, and that he managed to arrange it so that the whole thing did not rely on the utterance” (Dariusz Kosiński, Tygodnik Powszechny).

She also received rave reviews for her performance in Berlin Alexanderplatz directed by Natalia Korczakowska, and for her part in The Conformist directed by Bartosz Szydłowski at Łaźnia Nowa Theatre: “Anna Paruszyńska stands out, in a good way, as Marcel’s wife (…) It is her confession that, for years, she was molested by a family friend with her mother’s acquiescence, that most lingers in the memory,” wrote Joanna Targoń for Gazeta Wyborcza. In Krakow, the actor can also be seen on stage at the Bagatela Theatre, where she has played Bianca in The Taming of the Shrew directed by Michał Kotański. During her studies, Anna Paruszyńska also took part in the Brothers Karamazov project directed by Tomasz Cymerman, which received first prize during the Young Directors’ Forum in Krakow.
