Open Door Day at Krakow Museums
On Sunday 17, November 2019, in the frame of the Open Door Day at Krakow Museums, you are welcome to the Museum of the National Stary Theatre – all our visitors will be offered discounted tickets at 8 PLN.
The main subject of this year’s Open Door Day is focused on new art pieces in museum’s collections.
The Museum of the Stary Theatre has gained a new art work „A votive wall”, created out of stage props from the productions directed by the great masters of the Stary Theatre: Konrad Swinarski, Andrzej Wajda, Jerzy Jarocki, Jerzy Grzegorzewski.
The work presents recycled items used in their performances, which were given a new esthetic form, and lets them reveal their superpowers: our longings, inherited disappointments and aspirations. This collection of objects-symbols opens up the dialogue with the artists asking always relevant questions about Poland.
The events on that day will be conducted in Polish, however, the Museum’s expositions are bilingual: Polish and English.
The Forgotten Worlds project, which consists of an exhibition, a series of workshops and guided meditations, closes (and at the same time opens) another artistic season at MICET Interactive Museum at National Stary Theatre.
