A graduate of the Acting Department of the Ludwik Solski Academy for the Dramatic Arts in Kraków /1983/

1 October 1983 – The Stary Theatre, Kraków

A fiery brunette of great beauty, powerful expression, gifted with an unusual voice and a major vocal talent, she has played dozens of roles in a variety of repertoires. She worked several times with Andrzej Wajda: she was a Chorus Member in “Antigone”, she played Klara with grace and comedic skill in “Revenge”, and a feisty Kasia in “The Wedding”. Tomasz Kubikowski described her character of the the Maid in Ionesco’s “The Lesson” (directed by Elina Lo Voi) as follows: ‘Mary is young, beautiful, raven-haired, stately, with a very calm and icy appearance. She wears a modest gray dress, has something ineffably glum about her, and her lips have the shadow of an equivocal smile. She is, at any rate, a mysterious figure.’ She made a brilliant showing in the visual spaces of Jerzy Grzegorzewski’s productions: in “The Death of Ivan Ilyich”, playing several characters in “Forefathers’ Eve – Twelve Improvisations”, and as the mad Volunteer Shooter in “So-Called Humanity Gone Mad”. Mikołaj Grabowski cast her in roles of eccentric women with sensual beauty, often using her vocal talents: The Lady in Red and Mrs Dowalewiczowa in “Trans-Atlantyk”, the battling Woman in “Parliament of Women”, and several characters spectacularly performing songs and cabaret scenes in “One Hundred Years of Cabaret… Krakow’s Cabarets of the 20th Century”.

Away from her home stage, she appeared in the monodrama “Madame”, dedicated to Helena Modrzejewska. She won the Audience Award at the Actors’ Song Festival in Wrocław. She also performs outside of Poland; since 2012, she has appeared in a French-language play, “Les Arrangements”, directed by Lucas Hemleb, and performed in theaters in Vire, Montpelier, Coutances, Sartrouville, Paris, and Lyons.
