A lack of complacency and a constant pushing of limits – this is the most succinct definition of Globisz’s acting. This brilliant actor, who is blessed with great charisma, has played nearly 70 roles at the Stary Theatre. He considers Jerzy Jarocki a master, in whose productions he has played many wonderful characters: such as in “The Marriage”, “Life Is a Dream”, “Exhumation”, “The Silver Dream of Salome” and “Act Three”, based on Witkacy’s “The Shoemakers” (for which he received the Zelwerowicz Award). He also considers Jerzy Grzegorzewski a master, in whose plays he has acted not only in Kraków, but also at the National Theatre in Warsaw (Wyspiański’s “A November Night” and “The Judges”). The theatrical sensitivity and unbelievable naturalness of this actor have been appreciated by Krystian Lupa, who cast him in “Sleepwalkers” and “Zarathustra”, in which he played the stirring role of the philosopher Fritz/Nietzsche who descends into madness. Globisz has acted in productions by Andrzej Wajda (both in theatre and film) and by Tadeusz Bradecki, Mikołaj Grabowski and Petr Zelenka. He revealed his lyrical side in Iwan Wyrypajew’s “Illusions”, a subtle analysis of entangled human feelings. He has contributed to the success of Jan Klata’s productions at the Stary Theatre. Full of charm and vigour, despite his age, as Kmicic in “The Trilogy”, based on Henryk Sienkiewicz, stirring as Verloc in “The Secret Agent”, based on Conrad, overflowing with religious visions as Dawid Yetmeyer in “The Wedding of Count Orgaz”, based on Roman Jaworski, and the insane character of W. in “The Road to Damascus”, based on August Strindberg – he possesses the gift of being able to convince both critics and audiences with his roles. Without hesitation he took on four characters in “The Battle of Warsaw 1920” by the Demirski/Strzępka duo, receiving great acclaim.

In 2016 the actor returned to the Stary Theater for the compelling production of Elfriede Jelinek’s “Supplicants”: “Miśkiewicz managed to combine the cast into a monolith that literally crushed the viewer’s perception. As if this was not enough, the director employed Krzysztof Globisz. The legendary actor is still undergoing complex rehabilitation after an aneurysm. His participation in “The Supplicants” is touching, though not only in terms of a man’s struggle against all adversities.
Sitting in a wheelchair and suffering from aphasia, Globisz puts together sentences with some difficulty. He makes the effort to communicate, surely being conscious of the fact that not all his meaning will be understood. “‘The Supplicants’ is an attempt to articulate meaning. Globisz has acted in many films, serials and TV theatre productions (including Krzysztof Kieślowski’s “A Short Film About Killing”, “Danton”, Andrzej Wajda’s “Pan Tadeusz”, Robert Gliński’s “All That Really Matters” and Jan Jakub Kolski’s “Pornografia”), and he seduced the general public as the angel Giordano (in the films of Artur Więcek).
