Watching Lesson: As made flesh

25 April, 7 pm
Free Admission
Strefa BE, ul. Jagiellońska 1

Lead:
dr hab. Wojciech Klimczyk
Guests:
Justyna Wielgus
Paweł Sakowicz

As part of the Watching Lesson, we will take a closer look at the work with body and movement in contemporary theatre with a dance anthanthropologist and practitioner Wojciech Klimczyk, PhD, and choreographers and dancers Justyna Wielgus (Szewcy) and Paweł Sakowicz (Kopciuszek).

As a point of departure, we will make use of shows co-created at the Starty Theatre by guest artists as well as creative strategies, methods and exercises used by choreographers in their own theatre work. We will be interested in both solo practice and directing the movement of others, especially actors.

In this installment of the Watching Lesson, you will see how thoughts and concepts become flesh to create movement. Besides relevant skills and tools, we will seek to present and define various kinds of dance language found in theatre.
